"Youth Ministry"

The youth of today are challenged and pulled from a diversity of satanic influences. From the vices of a sinful Adamic nature to what has become the now popular phrase, ’bling, bling,’ age, the concept of holy living is virtually obsolete. "Generation X," as it is called has been marked with a series of marquee opponents.

This age of the ‘bling, bling’ with all of it’s exploitations has to be met with a relevant Gospel for an irrelevant era. From the Cable TV, commercial ads and marketing campaigns, all of which are littered with provocative exploits of degrading women and glorifying the dredges of society, it is mandated that this ministry’s mission is to present a savior who is concerned with the entire well-being of all mankind. We must convey that Christ is concerned with every aspect of life. "Suffer the little children to come unto me for such is the kingdom of heaven."

So, the challenge is not how much we can condemn but rather how much we can love. The ministry of the AOG Youth must be sensitive and yet not compromising. The ministry of the AOG Youth has to have one foot in the problem and one foot in the solution. There must be two-way dialog in order to present Christ to this Generation unlike those who were born in the wilderness who knew not the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

The primary focus is to bridge the gap from an old traditional setting to a generation that has been judged and not taught the love of Christ. It will not be church as usual, but it will be viewed as a ministry that can conduct an informal rap session allowing the youth to express themselves but searching for the answers coming from the Word of God.

It will be our quest to love, mentor, have patience and understanding of the untapped talent that will be entrusted into our care. We have a goal and a purpose to help enhance the lives of those who are valuable and important to the future of our families, community and society, our youth.
